I know that every day thousands of children in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania are attending schools that are failing them. I know that children can achieve at high levels because I have been in schools that are proof of that. I joined PennCAN’s advisory board because I know that getting involved in solving this crisis at all levels is important. Politics is something I have historically tried to stay away from, but I have come to realize that it is a crucial piece of the solution to fixing America’s underperforming schools. PennCAN is at the forefront of advocating politically for changes that can have an immediate positive impact on Pennsylvania’s students.
